Ranked by many as the world’s premier spot for coral reef diving, Wakatobi is located on the small island of Onemobaa, which lies off the south-eastern cost of Sulawesi. An exquisite location, Wakatobi boasts over 300 miles of pristine reefs with equally beautiful palm tree lined beaches. Reachable only by private charter flight from Bali (Tuesday & Friday), he resort offers six private bungalow accommodation or ‘Longhouse’ rooms with shared facilities. Prices include all meals freshly prepared by the resort’s Swiss chef using much delicious local produce. The resort is an authentic nature retreat and part of the National Marine Reserve of Tukang Besi, and the number of divers is strictly limited.

Diving

Spectacular visibility (20-60m) on an unbelievable range of superb dive sites including walls, slopes and drop-offs, all offering outstanding marine diversity and excellent photographic potential. Unlimited shore diving right off the beach on the protected house reef is included in the price, as is all boat diving.

Depending on the season you may encounter pilot whales, dolphin, sharks, rays as well as a plethora of large and junvenile fish. The highlights of diving at akatobi are the incredibly diverse and colourful reefs with their vast range of permanent inhabitants and the opportunity to dive pristine dive spots.
