LANZAROTE - INTRODUCTION Introduction | Hotels | Dive Centres | Late Offers
Lanzarote is famous for its remarkable attractions. The Fire Mountain in Timanfaya National Park with its volcanic landscapes, craters and black rock is absolutely unforgettable. Puerto del Carmen has a six-kilometre long beach adjacent to the calm, quiet waters of the great Atlantic Ocean. It also has an exceptional range of shops, bars and restaurants, traditional folklore and cultural festivals, a friendly and welcoming local population and a stunning volcanic landscape. Tennis, golf and aquatic sports including diving are available. Increasingly popular among visitors to Lanzarote is Playa de los Pocillos, located between Puerto del Carmen and Matagorda. Families enjoy its gently shelving beach and its friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The centre of the resort has many shops, bars and restaurants, while a regular bus service connects the resort to Puerto del Carmen. Originally a small fishing village, the beautiful resort of Playa Blanca situated on the southern tip of Lanzarote, has an attractive harbour where you can enjoy stunning views of neighbouring islands Fuerteventura and Los Lobos. A seafront stroll takes in the length of the resort and you can enjoy one of the five golden beaches along the way. The small main beach, central to the resort, is backed by a modern promenade full of shops and restaurants. Costa Teguise is one of the most spectacular areas in Lanzarote, blessed with stunning beaches, wide green spaces and above all a remarkable sense of calm and serenity. Its beaches are perfect for diving, windsurfing, sailing and deep-sea fishing. The resort also offers a golf course, an aquatic park, squash, tennis, paddleball and numerous private sports centres.
