The island of Palau is located in the western group of Micronesian islands in the Pacific Ocean, 400 miles north of the equator. Jacques Cousteau visited the island in the 1960’s and reported that the colourful underwater walls and drop offs were in his opinion “the best in the world”. There is a variety of accommodation to suit all budgets offering comfortable and clean living space in tranquil surroundings.
Popular hotels include the Palau Pacific, West Plaza Resort and Caroline’s Resort, each with its own unique beach or tropical rainforest backdrop offering twin bed accommodation, and most with ocean view. Dive packages can also be included with the locally run Fish n Finn Dive Centre.
Palau also offers Micronesia ‘s richest flora and fauna. The main town of Koror offers excellent shopping and dining, and being the least populated island there are plenty of isolated beaches to go to and a different dive site for every day of the year!
