Israel Bird Watching Holidays

Israel is ranked high among worldwide destinations for European bird watchers, with millions of migrants from hundreds of species passing through twice a year, it is one of the world’s busiest and most impressive flyways.

Eilat Bird Festival from 17 – 24 March 2019

The Eilat Bird Festival is hosted each Spring at the peak of the migration period in Eilat, on the Red Sea, with tours throughout Israel’s southern regions, including the Arava, the Eilat Mountains, the Negev and the Dead Sea.

The Hula Valley Bird Watching Festival & Negev Desert in November 2019

The Hula Valley Bird Festival is hosted each year during the Autumn migration. The festival features premiere birding experiences throughout Israel’s northern regions, and in the marshy terrain of the Hula Valley.

WHY WE LOVE IT

Israel offers excellent bird watching year round with every season hosting its own specialties. Israel’s diverse desert regions are home to many regional specialties like: Macqueen’s Bustard, Arabian Warbler, Desert and Trumpeter finch and many more. Most of these species can all be found year round if you know where to go.

EILAT BIRD FESTIVAL – 17 -24 MARCH 2019

The Eilat Birds Festival is hosted by the Israel Ornithological Center and is designed to bring together birders from the world over for an unforgettable week of birds, migration and nature during the peak of spring migration.

The festival is a week long event that includes day and night bird watching tours to all the best sites in southern Israel, many bird related activities, presentations, talks and more.

Packages include accommodation, your choice of several free fully guided tours daily and evening activities. Past festivals hosted hundreds of birdwatchers from all over Europe and the US that enjoyed a host of real rarities, including extreme vagrants and many memorable migration days.

HULA VALLEY BIRD WATCHING FESTIVAL & NEGEV DESERT – NOVEMBER 2019

Continue on this Birds Super Highway there is another exciting Bird Festival in the Hula Valley which is also in the Rift Valley in Israel, this is particularly exciting with almost 300 bird species either migrating, wintering or indeed residents in the Hula Valley. You are likely to see many birds that are globally threatened or under great pressure. This winter event is ran by the same dedicated team organising the Eilat Spring Migration Festival and has been run since 2011.

MAKE THE MOST OF ISRAEL

In addition we can also arrange for an ‘Anytime’ bird watching tour comprising of a 7 nights Kibbutz Fly-drive extension from Eilat; with 2 nights en route and 5 nights at Kibbutz Kfar Ghiladi.

We have lots of great suggestions for tours and experiences you can combine with a bird watching tour, so call us anytime to discuss and plan a holiday that is perfect for you!
