Romantic Mauritius

It’s no surprise that many couples go to Mauritius to celebrate their honeymoon for a ‘once in a life time experience.’ Imagine lazing around on an idyllic paradise beach, on the Indian Ocean, spending time with your loved one. Watch as the wind rustles through the mangroves and the sound of birds add to the sense of calm and mindfulness during an early morning meditation or yoga session.

Honeymoon couples come to Mauritius for a relaxing and romantic experience being in a far away island with hideaway beaches, 4-5 star hotel customer service and luxurious villas. But more importantly, they come for the scenic and breath-taking views of stunning red golden sunsets, turquoise seas and silky white sand.

Couples can relax more by soothing their limbs with pampering sessions. This ranges from relaxing massages and rejuvenating body treatments, many of which are available on most resorts – even on the beach on request.

There is a wealth of things couples can get up to in Mauritius from taking a bicycle ride to explore the island, indulging in the tranquil  beach atmosphere, drinking champagne by the terrace or enjoy evening entertainment. Some like to treat themselves to fine dining by the ocean-side. There are many restaurants and shopping venues on site yet for those who want to get a real feel of Mauritian culture, they should head to Grand Baie or the capital Port Louis.

For couples who are looking for an adventure in the outdoors there is  horse riding on the beach, kite surfing, sailing, paddle boarding, glass-bottom boat trips, pedalos and snorkelling,

For couples who are adrenaline junkies and want an adventure, however, there are many land and water sports to learn and try from sky-diving, water-skiing, windsurfing, diving, deep sea fishing trips and catamaran cruises for kayaking. Many go to Casela parc or Domaine Etoile for these type of activities and some catamaran go to the outer islands such as Flat island and Gabriel island where many go kayaking by the river.

And for some resorts they offer lively night life but there is also local northern regions that provide entertainment including Grand baie, Trou aux Biches and Pereybere, Pointe aux Cannoniers. For couples who stay at higher end resorts there are fully serviced golf and tennis courts to get some expert coaching as well.
