Nanavut Arctic Watch Eco-Lodge - Somerset Island
Located
on Cunningham Inlet, Somerset Island, on the fabled Northwest Passage.
An important stopover on the beluga whale migration the region also supports
a large polar bear population and is home to walrus, seal and narwhal
as well as caribou, muskox, arctic fox and many species of birds including
peregrine falcons. There are some exceptionally preserved archaeological
sites and activities include mountain-biking, sea-kayaking, hiking, raft
float trips, nature observations and learning about the Inuit culture.
The lodge includes sixteen simple but comfortable cabins with private
facilities and meals are hearty and tasty.
