UGANDA

UgandaUganda – the pearl of Africa and the source of the great River Nile is a country of spectacular mountains, rainforests, rivers and lakes. There are an enormous variety of things to see and do in Uganda including trekking the rare Mountain Gorillas and chimpanzees, bird watching (Uganda boasts over a thousand species of birds including 27 Rift Valley Endemics and the Shoebill Stork), mountain climbing and hiking up the Rwenzoris (Mountains of the Moon). There is also first class game viewing, boating, fishing for Nile Perch or Tiger Fish, white-water rafting and historical and cultural tours. We offer a range of safaris in Uganda, from a 6-day trip to view gorillas to our "The Ultimate Uganda Safari" trip that lasts for 12-15 days and takes in the best of the country. In addition to this we run specialist trips with qualified ornithologists and primatologists.

Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, Lake Victoria.

Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sancuary, Lake VictoriaChimpanzees are an endangered species found only in the forests of Africa. Experience a rare and incredible opportunity to visit these intriguing creatures in a near-wild setting while helping to conserve their precious habitat and contribute to the conservation of their species. We offer accommodation here in comfortable, large East African style tents on platforms overlooking the lake. Each tent accommodates two persons (twin beds) in comfort, with duvets and all linen supplied, en suite bathroom facilities and solar lighting. The Forest Walk experience offers you an opportunity to join a group of infant chimpanzees on a one hour walk through their forest habitat, either in the late afternoon or very early morning. A maximum of three visitors are allowed in the forest for each walk, always accompanied by trained CSWCT staff for your safety and enjoyment. You will be in the company of several chimpanzees ranging in age from 1 year to 8 years of age and you will have direct contact. The forest walk may be included as part of your overnight experience on Ngamba Island.
