Manado lies at the Northern tip of Sulawesi, and it is world famous for its muck/critter dives and the outer reefs have colourful soft corals.

The average visibility in the Lembeh Strait is 10 – 18 metres on good days and 6 – 12 on poor days. This is due to the tidal exchange and incoming and outgoing currents that feed Lembeh’s rich marine life. The extremely rich ‘nutritional environment’ is precisely why the area supports such a diverse range species, including hairy frogfish, pygmy seahorses, star gazers, cockatoo flounder, ghost pipefish, mimic octopus, blue ring octopus and flamboyant cuttlefish.

Water temperature averages 25 to 28 degrees Celsius. Diving in North Sulawesi is usually in the 10 – 25 metre range and is suitable for divers of every level.

There is said to be a greater variety of marine life in the seas off North Sulawesi than anywhere else on the planet and outstanding diving is available year round.
