Red Sea Diving Safaris Eco Villages

Nakari Village, Shagra Village and Lahami Village

These camps were set up by Hossam Helmy who with his team has been diving and exploring this area for nearly 20 years. Originally travelling dive safaris the tents are now pitched on 3 permanent sites at Marsa Shagra, Marsa Nakari and Wadi Lahami. Rooms have also been added for those wanting greater comfort, rooms with shared facilities at Marsa Shagra and Marsa Nakari, and rooms with private facilities and fans at all three sites. The emphasis of these camps is the diving and accommodation is offered on a full board basis. Marsa Shagra is the main site, north of Marsa Alam town, near to hotels such as the Calimera Habiba while Nakari is a smaller camp 18kms south of Marsa Alam town. Wadi Lahami, designed for the more experienced and adventurous divers, is in the deep south near Hamata.

Red Sea Diving Mini Safaris

Red Sea Diving Safari is offering a new boat diving program called “Deep South Mini-safari – St. Johns ”. This is a 3-night boat diving excursion that is departing twice a week on Saturday and Tuesday. We are offering a 7 day land/sea combo package; 3 nights of which are spent aboard M/Y Patriot and the remaining 4 nights can be spent at one of our villages.

St. Johns Mini Safari

2 Trips Weekly:

Trip 1: (Friday night – Monday afternoon) guests embark on Friday night for dinner and orientation. Boat leaves to St. Johns early Saturday morning for 3 full days of diving. Guests disembark on Monday afternoon.

Trip 2: (Monday night – Thursday afternoon) guests embark on Monday night for dinner and orientation. Boat leaves to St. Johns early Tuesday morning for 3 full days of diving. Guests disembark on Thursday afternoon.

The package covers 3 nights on board the boat and 4 nights at any one of our villages. Full-board basis includes 3 meals a day, afternoon cake, water, soft drinks, coffee, and tea (beer, chips, juice, ice cream, etc. available at an extra cost.) The diving program offers minimum of 3 dives per day, 2 of which are guided. Should guests require a personal guide for the whole trip arrangements must be made in advance.

PHOTO-VIDEO Workshop with Jeff Goodman

Red Sea Diving Safaris l is pleased to introduce a video & video editing workshop by award winning cameraman Jeff Goodman. Jeff Goodman has over thirty years experience as a cameraman and director working globally in wildlife and underwater camera work. Jeff’s credits include working for the BBC, Channel 4, National Geographic, Discovery USA and Discovery Europe amongst many others.
During a long career which has taken Jeff to some of the most remote and un-spoilt landscapes and marine environments in the world; he saw for himself the damage to the environment and made a decision to do something about it. Conservation began to play an important part in Jeff's life and it is that element that inspires him to show people how wonderful, unique, and delicate the underwater ecosystem is through the eyes of the lens.
This exciting five day workshop is designed for both advanced users and enthusiastic beginners. The workshop will take you through the practical side of good camera techniques, story creation, sequence structure, editing, script and much more. The workshop also shows you how to watch for wildlife behavior and suitable filming locations.

Awlad Baraka Village & Al Saraya Cotton Houses

Situated 14 kms south of Marsa Alam town overlooking Tondoba Bay, this unique dive camp offers African style huts with either shared or private facilities, and palace-like tents with a separate sleeping area, sitting area, private facilities and wooden terraces with a seaview. Full board accommodation is offered with meals taken at the camp restaurant. There is also another caféteria on the beach, near the Blue Heaven Holidays Diving Centre also run by Aymen and Constanze the creators of the camp. The untouched house reef and nearby Samadai Reef (Dolphin House) make this a divers paradise.
