NORTH Route
Once left the moorings and taken off from Capo Galera (to the north direction ) we will meet the massive Punta Giglio, which is the entrance (mouth ) of Porto C on te, an extensive natural harbour in the past already used by Roman ships.

The submerged caves of `Falco`(hawk), `dei fantasmi` (Ghosts), `delle stalattiti`(Stalactites), `dei Cervi` (Deer) and `del Pozzo`(well) characterize this area.

Diving ALGHERO Once passed this natural fjord we will reach the high cliffs of Capo Caccia, overhanging rock that falls into the beautiful sea, creating a spectacular and unique landscape.
Several fascinating diving excursions are possible in this side of the sea, also here most of them are into the caves: the Mad on nina, the “ Tunnel” , the “ Fiord” , the “Cabirol”, the “Porch” and, the most famous for its development, the cave of “Nereo”. C on tinuing the navigation , we will be able to see, in fr on t of “Cala Inferno”, the beautiful Foradada island, so called for his cavities (foro=hole). Further north we will reach the island “Piana” and “Cala Barca”, where we can have some diving between caves and spectacular rock-arches.

Very interesting on the bottom is the presence of traces of a sinked galle on (16th century), including several tiles and a cann on .

We will continue towards to the “Argentiera”, a Cape in the middle of the sea that hides a creek with in the middle a beautiful beach, that in the past was used to load silver minerals extracted from a mine on the spot. Further north we find the island “ Asinara “, a natural park to be discovered, underwater as well as on the surface. The view you have joining the famous Pelosa beach near Stintino is unforgettable.

SOUTH Route

Leaving Capo Galera you move to Bosa, following initially a quite linear costline up to Capo Marargiu.

Diving Alghero Here you can have very fascinating dives up to 40 meters deep by shallows offshores.
At the mouth of the river Temo, the on ly navigable river in Sardinia, we can admire the charming village of Bosa , dominated by a hill on which stand the ruins of an austere castle built around 1100 by the Marquis Malaspina. Further south we will reach some Rocky towers emerging from the sea called Cor on a Niedda where you can have some interesting diving.
Then the famous Puntill on e, a submerged rock m on olith. In a few hours of navigation we will arrive to the island of Mal di Ventre , a w on derful naturalistic park, inhabited by turtles and migratory birds.

Ones anchored in the “Cala dei Pastori”, it seems to be in an Mal dive 's atoll, with fine sandbeaches and crystal water.
We will experience extraordinary dive s in unpolluted bottoms, around the island. Passed the Gulf of Oristano we reach Capo Frasca and Torre dei Corsari where we can admire the majestic sand dunes on the beach Pistis.

We reached the Costa Verde, desolate and wild, and we will arrive to Buggerru, a mining settlement of the last century, where a rocky wall overlooks the sea.
Then a high reef in the middle of the sea, this is Pan di Zucchero, anohter suitable place for our dive s. We are getting close to the islands of San Pietro and Sant'Antioco, where Phoenician settlements are still visible.

In the fishermen village of Carloforte the spoken language is still the Ligurian dialect, due to the establishment of the Genovesi in the 19th cetury. The tradional Tonnara which takes place every year and the production of bottarga are typical of this area.
Some shallows around the two islands offer unique and fascinating dives.

CAPO GALERA Dive Centre

At Capo Galera on e feels far from everything - even though the city is on ly 15 minutes away by car; the boat rocks below in the little cove, the dive rs gathered around the fire sharing stories about the sea.

Every on e who lives there knows that you can never tire of this beauty, come to Capo Galera and you will understand why.

The home base of the Diving Center is a villa on the prom on tory of Capo Galera, at the center of the gulf of Alghero built by a Dutch oil company manager in the 50's.

Capo Galera Diving Lodge Capo Galera Diving

Capo Galera DivingAll of the guest rooms have a terrace overlooking the sea; the Mediterranean vegetation surrounding the villa c on tributes to the charm of a holiday in nature with time to relax and enjoy yourself, even for those who do not want to do underwater activities.

All of the Diving Center gear comes directly from Cressi Sub and is guaranteed and serviced by them.

Three compressors guarantee a filling capacity of 44 cubic meters with a system of intermediate tanks to ensure the best quality of air.

The villa is located on the top of a cliff 15 meter above sea level. To carry the gear down to the dock we have the old "Zapp" - an old and glorious little boat rigged on a rail and used as a lift to take all the diving gear from the Diving Center to the pier, as you can see from the photo.

From the pier you board Patrizia, a splendid 15 meter wooden boat built in 1966 at the Aprea shipyards by the expert master shipbuilders of Torre del Greco .
