"La Masseria di Mamma" is a typical Sicilian construction, situated in the countryside of the village of Alcamo, about 35km from Palermo's International Airport and about 55km from Trapani Airport. The structure, although it has been renovated preserves the main characteristics of the "Baglio" (courtyard), a rural site where in the past the social life of a certain group of people mostly formed of families was conducted. La Masseria di Mamma in its original form dates from 1943, nowadays it has changed its prospect and has been transformed into a very elegant residence with the possiblity to welcome up to 10 guests.
La Masseria is inserted in the context of a territory where the cultivation of vineyards is dominant and for this reason for vegetation appears very intensive and the surrounding environment brings the observer back in time where nature is sovereign queen. This is exactly what appears in front of visitor's eyes and this is what helps the visitor to relax in the countryside and at the same time to have available all necessary comforts and facilities, to enjoy the absolute elegance of the indoor and outdoor premises, one of which is the swimming pool with its privacy and panoramic vews.
The structure is accessed through a typical gate that leads you into the Baglio, from where can be reached all inside the premises. The structure comprises a ground floor and first floor.
The ground floor has a large and luminous living room, characterised by an arch made of local stones, originating from teh period of the first construction. Lately it has been restored and renovated during reconstruction. A large window looks out to the patio and pool having the countryside as background. The main feature of the indoor premises is their colourfulness due to the old fashioned furniture representing the style of Sicilian craftsmanship.
The living room is adjaent to the kitchen, which is also spacious and luminous with sight over the swimming pool. The kitchen is fully equipped with all kinds of utensils, cutlery and households. Furthermore on the ground floor there are two double bedrooms with queen sized bed and both have en-suite bathroom with shower, one double bedroom with twin beds and two single bedrooms. There is also available a bathroom suitable for disabled people. The furniture in all rooms as well as in all other premises is elegant and stylish.
Another characteristic of the ground floor is the presence of an area equipped with computer with the possibility of access to the internet and a little library, for those guests who need privacy. A comfortable and prtty wooden stair goes up to teh first floor, where there is the suite, a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and panoramic view over the surrounding territory. There is a laundry with further bathroom and shower available too. The nice position of Villa Masseria gives the possibility to visit different sightseeing and archeological sites such as Palermo, Castellammare del Golfo, Scopello, Segesta, Erice, Selinunte, Marsala and Agrigento. At about 10km is located the nature reserve park Lo Zingaro with its marvellous bays and Mediterranean vegetation. The crystal sea waters are inviting to practice various water sports such as swimming, diving, sailing etc.
