Teverina BassaCasa d'Orlando A three bedroom house that sleeps 6, Casa d'Orlando is just outside the Umbrian town of Umbertide on the side of Monte Corona looking down on the Tiber valley with an abbey (Badia di Monte Corona) at the foot of the mountain and the Eremo (a monastery of Benedictines) at the top. There is an asphalt road right to the house. Casa d'Orlando is the vacation home of an English couple. It is very comfortable with a splendid living room with easy chairs and sofa and a dining area on one side. There is a large kitchen down a few steps. There are 2 bedrooms off the living room, a bedroom with double bed and one with 2 singles and ensuite cloakroom (WC and basin). The main bathroom has WC, basin and shower. There is a washing machine. Up a short flight of stairs is the third bedroom with 2 single beds. Prices inclusive of bed linen and towels but you should bring your own pool towels. The garden wraps round the house with rows of ancient vines, lawns and tremendous views of the Tiber valley in one direction and Tuscany hills in another. There are plenty of spots for al fresco meals in different parts of the garden and front courtyard. Casa d'Orlando is joined to another house owned by an Italian family and used infrequently. However, the other house is on a lower level and effectively hidden; Casa d'Orlando is totally private. There is a small pool (8m by 4m). Weekly rental rates 2011
