Teverina BassaCasa Lucati The house has four bedrooms and sleeps 8, the barn has 1 bedroom and sleeps 2. Casa Lucati is a beautifully renovated property above the Niccone Valley. An old stone farmhouse and converted barn: it is comfortably and tastefully decorated and furnished with many antique pieces. It has magnificent views over the valley and the surrounding hillsides. The property consists of two buildings a few metres apart. The large house has 4 bedrooms and three bathrooms and the converted barn has a double bedroom with a bathroom. Both have kitchens. The entrance of the main house is into a well equipped kitchen (electric oven, gas hobs, dishwasher, refrigerator) leading into a comfortable sitting room with sofas. From the kitchen are a few steps up to a handsome Tuscan style stone walled dining room with large refectory table. Upstairs in an attractively converted loft space is another twin bedded room (2 single beds) which leads through to a spacious double bedroom. The smaller bedroom is suitable only for two children as it has a low ceiling. There is a shower, basin and separate WC on this floor. There is a TV/DVD player in the larger bedroom on this floor (no TV reception). On the ground floor in a separate room are the washing machine and dryer, table tennis table and garden furniture. The converted barn has an open-plan living room with lounge area, dining area and an impressive kitchen. There is a double bedroom and a bathroom with tub. The living room has French windows onto a large loggia with plenty of room for a large party to dine, a wonderful place for drinks, dining or just relaxing and admiring the view of the valley or watching the children in the pool. Radio/tape player. The pool is 11x5m and paved all round. It has solar heating. While there are neighbours behind the house the positioning makes the house, garden and pool area completely private. The house is situated near the little church of San Lorenzo which has infrequent services. Casa Lucati is approximately 10 minutes drive to Mercatale di Cortona which has excellent shopping. Wonderful walks start from the front door into beautiful unspoilt countryside. Weekly prices for 2009
