Perusia

Tuoro is in the heart of Lake Trasimeno Regional Park, on the lakeshore surrounded by green hills. This is where, in 217BC, Hannibal’s Carthaginian army defeated the Romans. A pleasant trip is to travel by steamer to the lake islands. The beach is 1 km from the village and has windsurfing and sailing facilities. The apartments are in a restored house situated close to the historic centre.

La Scuderia

It would be difficult to oversell this superb small house - a former stable next to the small estate church.

You will think you are guests of the Italian landed gentry and that is indeed the case. The family occupy two houses on the estate (two elderly people and a small family) but for guests it's like having a private house and garden. The writer Alberto Moravia spent time here and wrote his novels "Conjugal Love" and "The Indifferent Ones" (L'Amore Coniugale/Gli Indifferenti) in the owner's house and in the gardens.

Built in the classic Umbrian style with exposed chestnut beam ceilings, thick stucco walls and hand made terracotta floor tiles, La Rondinaia consists of three bedrooms, three ensuite bathrooms with enclosed showers, a large modern farm kitchen with separate dining area, and a large sitting room surrounding a massive stone fireplace. Two bedrooms each contain a wrought iron queen size bed and traditional furnishings, while the other bedroom has a pair of twin beds to comfortably accommodate a party of 6 persons. Every window commands stunning views of the valley and gentle hills below.

This is a luxury villa - probably the best villa of its size available for self catering. Suitable for a handicapped person.
Its near the top of the hill so gets sun all day.

Its between the villages of Tuoro (above lake Trasimeno) and Mercatale di Cortona, the Tuscany village at the head of the Niccone valley.
There is a restaurant closeby.

Carmina

Carmina has 5 bedrooms and sleeps 10 adults or a group of 12 with children who can sleep three or four to room.
Carmina is an old mountain house (possibly three or four hundred years old) which commands striking views of the hills of Tuscany and Umbria. There is a long gravel road from the village to the house, steep (other houses on the way) in parts.

Casa Fabbri

Teverina Bassa used to be on the on the old unmade route linking Rome with the north-east coast of Italy. Part of the route includes an old Roman road - still very visible and usable in many places. Since the building of a proper road thirty years ago the road now just serves a few houses and a big farm. The farming family now provide accommodation for visitors in a comfortable four bedroom house with its own private garden. The owners are delightful and very helpful. They live in a farm house some 200 metres further down the road.
