Belize is home to the second largest barrier reef in the world, alive with colourful corals and sponges and a tremendous variety of fish and invertebrates. Exceptional visibility is found along the vertical walls. Belize is home to the famous Blue Hole, a collapsed freshwater cave system. This dive site is unique and unlike anything else in the Caribbean. The average water temperature is 27 degrees Celsius, rising to 28 - 29 degrees in July to September and dropping to 24 degrees in December and January. The dry season runs from August to May and typically offers the best diving. According to NOAA the Atlantic Hurricane Season is officially June to November but this time period also offers some of the best diving conditions, with calm seas and warm waters. |

BELIZE – Hamanasi Dive & Adventure Resort
Hamanasi
is situated on a beautiful beach south of Dangiga on the east coast of
Belize, with a stunning backdrop of the mystical Maya Mountains. The unique
location gives convenient access to the best dive locations and best onshore
sites in Belize. All rooms are airconditioned with Belizean hardwood furniture;
our favourite room type is the spacious ‘treehouse’ –
individual cabanas with terrace affording great privacy and excellent
birdwatching opportunities. Whilst at Hamanasi you can occupy your time
both above and below the water and as such they offer a unique ‘reef
and rainforest package’ where you can choose 5 ‘adventures’
to include in your seven night (half board) stay. Choose from scuba diving
(you may wish to only include diving), Mayan touring, wildlife sanctuary
and jaguar preserve touring, waterfall hiking, river canoeing or jungle
adventuring.

Diving
More than 185 miles from north to south, the Belize Barrier Reef system is the greatest stretch or coral in the western hemisphere and encompasses a huge variety of coral reef including walls, pinnacles, swim throughs and more. Farther offshore there are three enormous atolls – Glovers Reef, Turneffe Islands and Lighthouse Reef – providing hundreds of miles of additional reef. Typical marine life sightings include turtles, moray eels, stingrays, grouper, barracuda, dolphin and shark species. Whalesharks can also be seen from April through to June.

Just added to our Lodge is a two-storey dormitory specifically
designed for student and educational research groups. Each of the
two rooms upstairs hosts 12 persons, with 2 rooms for leaders/instructors located on the ground floor. The Bunkhouse offers shared hot and
cold bathrooms and a private dining room.
