HONDURAS

Diving

Utila, the smallest of Honduras' Bay Islands, is located 30km off the Caribbean coast of Honduras in Central America. Utila offers pristine diving on sheer walls and unexplored offshore banks and seamounts, with the opportunity to encounter whale sharks and abundant macro life. Seamounts create the perfect gathering spot for pelagics such as jackfish, turtles, eagle rays and whale sharks.

Divers will explore the sheer walls and wrecks surrounding Utila as well as offshore seamounts. These pristine seamounts are a frontier that has yet to be fully explored by divers. Utila is world-famous for whale sharks and Aggressor guests may have the opportunity to swim with these migrating giants.

Water temperatures average between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius. Warm water, great visibility and little current mean that the diving conditions are suitable for divers of every level.

The dry season (March to September) offers the best diving. According to NOAA the Atlantic Hurricane Season is officially June through November but this time period also offers some of the best diving conditions, with calm seas and warm waters. The best time to see whale sharks is February to May.
