VANUATU - Silent One Liveaboard
Situated
to the east of Australia and south of the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu – a
group of 30 islands - is truly one of the world’s last great frontiers
and an idyllic destination for divers of all levels. MV Silent One is
the only Liveaboard vessel currently
operating in Vanuatu (out of Port Vila and Santo) offering four 6 night
itineraries around the islands including Northern, Southern, Far Northern
and Eastern discovery trips. Silent One has a crew of seven and can take
up to twenty passengers; it underwent an extensive refit in May 2002
designed specifically to cater for the dive enthusiast. Facilities include
spacious back deck catering for up to 20 divers, individual filling stations
and dive gear storage, nitrox airfills, onboard E6 slide film processing
and two 4.7m Gemini inflatables. There are ten air conditioned cabins
and seven bathrooms, with a well appointed galley, dining room and outdoor
bar area.
Diving
The dive highlight of Vanuatu has to be the famous wreck of the President
Coolidge, a 33 tonne converted luxury liner sunk during World War II
and included in each of the itineraries. The introduction of this Liveaboard
has opened up a host of new dive sites which have previously been inaccessible
from land. You can dive the amazing lava tubes off Nguna Island, see
schools of sharks on drift dives off the island of Malakeula and witness
schooling barracuda and tuna in the clear waters of the Maskelyne Islands.
Other highlights include huge drop offs of over 300 metres and Vanuatu’s
only reef atoll.

snacks, tanks & weights.
