Diving
The
North Sulawesi Aggressor visits the Bangka Islands, Bunaken Islands and
Lembeh Strait. North Sulawesi is world famous for its muck/critter dives
but the outer reefs are adorned with colourful soft corals. The Lembeh
Strait and surrounding areas are believed to offer the world's most diverse
marine biodiversity.
The average visibility in the Lembeh Strait is 10 - 18 metres on good days and 6 - 12 on poor days. This is due to the tidal exchange and incoming and outgoing currents that feed Lembeh's rich marine life. The extremely rich 'nutritional environment' is precisely why the area supports such a diverse range species, including hairy frogfish, pygmy seahorses, star gazers, cockatoo flounder, ghost pipefish, mimic octopus, blue ring octopus and flamboyant cuttlefish.
Water temperature averages 25 to 28 degrees Celsius. Diving in North Sulawesi is usually in the 10 - 25 metre range and is suitable for divers of every level.
The diving is excellent
year round. The wet season in Indonesia is from November to February however
it is less changeable in the Lembeh Strait due to the mountainous terrain
of the surrounding area.
